~ Recycled Cupboard Door Coatrack ~

Another great thing about
the school holidays....

is having time to finish projects
I started months ago!

My lovely friend Lisa saved this cubpoard door
for me when she renovated her kitchen
(which, by the way, looks stunning!)

So I unscrewed the handle and sanded
it back with my trusty mouse!

Next I taped off the glass and
painted it with my favourite colour....
(Porters Oyster White)
I also sanded back the edges
to give it a more shabby look,

I added a little plate I found
at the Camberwell Market earlier this year...

and I drilled holes to attach some glass knobs.....

then I hung my new
recyled cupboard door coat rack in my hall!

Where it comes in handy....

for not just coats, but also for all sorts of
other things like bags, hats and aprons!

Thanks Lisa! You knew I would put
your old kitchen cupboard door to good use....
it just took me a while to finish it!

Today I am joining
the lovely Courtney's
Feathered Nest Friday
over at the gourgeous

~ Magnificently Mad Tea Party ~

I just have to share some beautiful
memories of a magical day.....

I drove all the way to Bribie Island.....

across the bridge to discover
a wonderland of dazzling blue water
and sandy beaches which
was the perfect setting...

for the most extrodinary
and magnificent
tea party I have ever attended!!!!

Hosted by the devine Linda
and her equally devine husband Tim!

They set the most gorgeous table,
complete with beautiful
vintage china and glasswares,
decorated with delicate vintage bottles,
playing cards, flowers and sweets,
all atop of some stunning linen tablecloths!

It was a feast for the eyes,

as well as the tums!

These little rose scented cupcakes
were scrumptious.....
as were all the treats on offer!

You can see how creative
and clever Linda is....
each time you looked at the table
you discovered something new to admire!

How cute is this teapot cakestand!

She even brought a chandelier along!

It was so much fun to catch up
with my dear friends Linda and Pam
as well as meet some gorgeous new friends
who were all such
creative and inspiring ladies too!

Extra highlights include searching
for my tea cup on my arrival!!!!!
and my first ever fun and
fantastic game of croquet!!!

Thanks Linda and Tim,
What a magical day!

Photo of me taken by Pam.
(Thanks Pam!)

 I will never forget this
magnificently mad tea party!

Happy Weekend!

~ Chichenwire Cloche Hostess Gift ~

What do you take as a
gift for a hostess at a mad tea party?

Well... I came up with
mad tea cozy!

I made one of my
then painted it with some
Lace White King spray paint....

I decorated it with a little mad embelishment
(made from an empty plastic pin wheel,
little paper doily and a German Victorian die cut)....

Then I tied some tule and lace
ribbons around the handle...

I added a peach fabric rose....

and some charms...
an teapot (of course) and a key....

as well as a pretty tag
made from a Graphics Fairy image....

Of course this cozy doesn't
keep the tea warm at all...
well... I did say it was a mad tea cozy!

It did look nice on the table anyway!!!

Thanks to the amazing
& Tim for hosting
the most wonderful tea party...

I can't wait to show you all
 the pictures I took.....

It was the most magical
tea party I have ever been to!!!!

~ Coffee Sack Satchel & A Pretty Present ~

I had been pondering what
I should make with some gorgeous,
soft coffee sacks .....

that I found at the Camberwell Market
in Melbourne earlier this year....

and I finally decided that I
should make myself a
sweet little satchel bag ...
with a pretty rose fabric ruffle of course!

So I did!

I topped the ruffle with some
dusty pink velvet ribbon....

and added pockets inside,
and one on the back.

I initially made the strap too long
but fixed it by cutting it and tying it to size.

Needless to say I am delighted with the result!

Now for my pretty present....
my friend Jen from school
(JennyKay blogspot)
has been making jewellery....
and she gifted me this gorgeous Paris ring,
knowing my weakness for all things French!
Isn't it lovely?
Ohh la la!

I am getting very excited... because I am going
to a very special event tomorrow
(A Mad Hatter's Tea Party!)
hosted by the gorgeous Linda
Linda is incredibly creative and talented
so I am looking forward to an amazing day!
