~ Vintage Map Paper Decorations ~

I recently hosted a tea party to
farewell a dear friend off to teach in China.
After a little insprational browsing
on Pinterest I came up with a map theme
for my Bon Voyage tea party.....

I was lucky enough to have a
vintage atlas in my stash
so I got tearing and cutting!!!!

I cut little triangles
to make paper cupcake flags
using toothpicks (which I later
glued using a glue gun).

I folded some paper to make
those lovely rosettes.

I made some pinwheels
from a template on the internet.
I used some little brads from Kaisercraft
to secure them at the centre.

Then I made some tags
to decorate the table.

I glued some old buttons to
decorate the rosettes
and bakers twine to use to hang them.

Since I am on a map theme today I
thought I'd also show use
my flying ducks...
These are the ones from Kaisercraft
which I covered in a Cavellini & Co
map (wrapping paper).

There is something so pretty
about this vintage map paper,
it was a delight to create with too.

Hope you have been inspired
to get creating with paper now,
I imagine old children's books
would look just as effective
(I might try that next!).

I think that you could certainly
adapt the idea for some school
holiday fun with the kids!

  6. Hello Tiff~

You did such a lovely job on both the theme and the sweet paper crafts! I especially adore the pinwheels! {Are they hard to make?} That is so creative to use maps for your paper for everything, too. LOVE this! :) Your friend must have been so very touched by it all!

How have you been doing? You must be at the beginning of your winter now. Do you get much snow where you are? I hope you have a lovely Friday and weekend, my friend!

    Blessings and hugs,
    Jenni
