Homemade Advent Calender

I have managed to get four advent calendars worth of items collected, sorted and wrapped! Phew! I started collecting small items for my children, then I thought how much my grandma would enjoy opening something small each day. This is her first Christmas away from her home because she has gone into care this year. I thought having a small surprise each day will cheer up her festive season. Once I decided to go ahead with my grandma's treats, I realised my mum would enjoy the experience too so then I had four advent calendars to do!

To make the wrapping easier I used brown paper lunch bags and small kraft bags I purchased at Spotlight. I delved into my scrapbooking supplies that were gathering dust and used what I could find to jazz up my wrapping! I needed some numbers to stick on, so I went to my friend Google and found a bird frame I liked. I then inserted numbers from a digital scrapbooking kit I had on file and printed them on to A4 stitcher sheets. I cut them to size and I was ready to wrap!

Lovely! I think it will be a pretty and fun way to see in Christmas!

Have a happy week!

Pretty Soy Candles

I made some soy candles yesterday, using some recycled candle jars. I decorated them with some cotton lace and wooden buttons from my stash. I love how simple and sweet they look.
It is always exciting to make a new batch of soy candles using found and recycled containers - the results are often quirky and surprising!
